High-silicon cast iron anodes are key buried components in impressed current cathodic protection systems, serving as auxiliary anodes to provide corrosion protection for land and marine structures.    Regarding the chemical properties of impressed current high-silicon cast iron anodes, relevant standards have detailed specifications;    at present, our company has completed technical upgrading and replacement, and the launched digital modular products have stable performance, which can significantly improve the corrosion resistance of equipment.

High-silicon cast iron has excellent electrical conductivity.    When the anode current passes through, an oxidation reaction occurs on its surface, forming a thin silicon dioxide protective film.    This protective film has high resistivity and strong chemical stability, enabling the anode to be in a passive state in acidic environments, thereby greatly reducing the dissolution rate of the anode.

In addition, high-silicon cast iron modified by adding chromium can endow the silicon dioxide protective film with the ability to resist alkali corrosion and chloride ion erosion.    This characteristic allows chromium-containing high-silicon cast iron anodes to adapt to chloride-containing complex environments, and thus be widely used in corrosion protection projects under various soil or water conditions.
